CMA -CGM -Congestion Surcharge in Benelux Ports

Posted by Richard Strauss

Dear Customer,

With regret we have to inform you about the current situation in the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.
Both ports are heavily congested and situation has not improved over the last weeks.

All barge operators are now applying a congestion surcharge. Consequently we are forced to apply the same in case of a carrier haulage.

The amounts have been fixed as follows and be applied effective immediately:
Per Barge transport
from/to Antwerp/Rotterdam – Benelux destinations Eur 10,00 per teu
Antwerp/Rotterdam – France, Germany and CH Eur. 25,00 per teu

Unfortunately, the repositioning of empty equipment is also suffering from this congestion and resulting in shortages on various locations of our depots in the Rhine Valley area.
Some terminals/depots are omitted because of the severe delays.

We kindly request you to forward this message to all concerned within your organization and thank you in advance to include the above in your future calculations.

In case further information is required, please contact our local sales representative:
